Validating identity when accessing the wireless

For background information, see Wireless LAN Technologies and Microsoft Windows. For detailed information about a Windows-based authentication infrastructure, see Wireless Deployment Technology and Component Overview.I configured the IAS policy to grant access to Domain Computers, Authentication is set to PEAP and uses a private cert issued by our CA, the other profile settings are all default. The client settings on the laptop match the IAS settings and the certificate is definately installed. However, it didnt work, until I disconnected, turned the power off my Wi Fi, unchecked the tab in the authenticate dialog box, clicked ok, then switched the Wi Fi power back on, and reconnected.I have a laptop with a Dell D630 with Wi Fi power switch on the side.

This article assumes background knowledge in IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN and associated security technologies and the components of a Windows-based authentication infrastructure.

Because I have a switch to disable the Wifi power, this seemed easier/safer, and it worked. thanks, Solution: remove whatever "preferred networks" are displayed in wireless netwok card's property page, n click ok. happens when u switch to a new router or use a new different SSID.

cheere Hadn't read all solutions so I apologize if I'm repeating someone but all I did was go back to Belkin router setup utility, or (192.168.2.1) and clicked "wi fi protected setup".

Then, I selected disable at the "wi fi protected setup (wps)" option.

This seemed to work for me after I disconnected from my router and reconnected again.WPA2 is supported as i can connect to WPA2 personal APs. During the connection it flashes that it "connected" for a second then goes to "Validating Identity" which it eventually timesout on.
