In this era of remasters and ports, where every developer is bringing their most recent Xbox 360/PS3 titles to the current generation of hardware, it only makes sense that there would be a Dm C: Definitive Edition.
First, some back story – Dm C actually had a remastered edition of sorts with the PC version, handled by QLOC.
Each system has its own advantages and compromises, with the PS3 favouring texture detail and general image quality while higher-quality visual effects in combination with more stable performance are present on Xbox 360.
But how much of an impact does this have on the overall quality of the experience?
Despite the fact it looks incredible, both Capcom and UK developer Ninja Theory have gone to great and constant lengths to assure the IP’s devoted fanbase that this really will be a Devil May Cry game. Capcom US producer Alex Jones sat down with VG247’s Dave Cook at gamescom last week to talk through Dm C’s latest reveal – the return of Vergil – and the pressures of working on such a famous action game.
VG247: Your most recent reveal was of Dante’s brother, Vergil.
Thankfully, this isn't the case, with Ninja Theory blending enjoyable melee and gun-based combat with an entertaining narrative and some stunning graphics.
Now, more than seven years later, do those once cutting-edge visuals still make the grade on newer hardware and have any new issues appeared in the transition?
